Final Word: After All Is Said and Done
So! I do hope that you found some degree of enjoyment in reading about my trials and tribulations over the past eight decades. There were moments of embarrassment, perhaps a bit of humor here and there, some scary moments, some fun, frustrations, tragedy...all mixed together in one melting pot called LIFE!
Some folks seems to think that "the older the wiser", but I disagree with this. I think that as one approaches old age, one simply repeats the same experiences, the same mistakes and the same old routine, day by day, year after year...that the "learning curve" has leveled off somewhere during the twenties and thirties.
At any rate, I have been open and sincere. I have told my story with no holds barred! Having read this, I am sure that you have learned, most likely to your surprise, that I am Jewish and gay...because being Jewish and gay had a definite and profound influence on the music I have composed starting as a toddler. One can sense this in reading between the lines. Yes, I might just as well be open and truthful. Why not?
I might add this:
Prior to the Civil War, my paternal grandfather, when migrating from Russia to the United States, changed his name from Jacob Rabinowitz to Jacob Robb. A distinguished rabbi...he sired five sons and three daughters. My pet schnauzer’s initials, J.R., are a tribute to my grandfather!
As I have mentioned, I'm. sure that my contemporaries will be shocked when learning about my religion and sexual orientation, but so what? What have I got to lose at this point in my life? Besides, most of the people I know who are my age are no longer vertical, plus the fact that very few, if any, even own a computer and therefore have no access to the web-site. I do want to say this though: I too am prejudiced...but! ONLY AGAINST THOSE WHO ARE PREJUDICED!
I also hope that you will take the time to listen, really listen, after reading my Life Story, to the different melodies I have composed over the years. Perhaps you might choose one or two favorites? You certainly don't have to like them all. Everybody's taste in music varies, just like one's choice of food, etc..
I have a host of other songs waiting in the wings and, depending upon your reaction to my CD #1, "George Robb's Americana", I hope to introduce more CD's in the near future! After all, sharing is the whipped cream on the pie of creation!
And oh...you might want to log on to my collection of short stories called, "Why Not?" as well as my mystery novel, "Better Than One” and a parody of the screen play, “Pretty Woman” which I called, “Pretty Boy”.
